Proposal: Virtual Professional Development Training – “AI Tools to Empower Every School Educator”

Purpose
This professional development session is designed to empower K–12 school teachers with hands-on knowledge of simple, effective AI tools that save time, reduce workload, and enrich student engagement. Teachers will explore how AI can assist in lesson planning, classroom management, student assessments, and presentation  content creation—making everyday tasks more efficient and impactful, no matter the subject or grade level. The session will focus on building confidence and sparking ideas for classroom integration, regardless of grade level or subject area

Session Objectives
By the end of the session, participants will be able to:

  • Identify practical uses of generative AI tools—such as AI-powered writing assistants, lesson plan generators, research summarizers, idea organizers, grading assistants, and form builders—to support teachers in their daily classroom needs.
  • Examine real-world examples of how these AI functions are already being used effectively in educational settings to improve instruction, streamline tasks, and personalize learning.
  • Participate in guided, hands-on practice with at least one AI-powered tool (e.g., for lesson planning or automating feedback) to build confidence and familiarity.
  • Reflect on how AI can enhance instruction, assessment, differentiation, and student engagement in their specific classroom context.

Here are the tools:

  • Identify practical uses of AI for prompting, summarizing content, visualizing ideas, generating mind maps, adapting text, and creating interactive assessments.
  • Explore real-life applications of AI in boosting productivity across tasks like email writing, report generation, meeting minutes, and team coordination.
  • Gain hands-on experience using AI to enhance writing, marketing, presentations, and job preparation.
  • Reflect on how AI can support business planning, communication, and collaboration across departments.
  • Discover how to design effective formative assessments and adaptive quizzes.

Expected Outcomes :

Teachers will take away the following practical ideas

  • Identify one AI-powered strategy for enhancing instruction or planning.
  • Gain confidence and digital fluency in using AI tools.
  • Contribute to a collaborative space for ongoing AI integration in education
